Excellent short story. I really enjoyed Bruns and Olson's other book 'Weapons of Mass Deception' and Reza was one of my favorite characters in the story. I was delighted to get some back story on his life with this short story. Be sure to read the whole series as they are worth it! Very enjoyable!!
This book is written as a companion to the WMD Files series, it is basically a prequel in a way that takes place long before the other books and gives you a glimpse into the past and helps you understand how Reza Sanjabi came to be who he is. I don't want to say too much and give away anything if you haven't read it, so if you haven't read it what are you waiting for.
Read Battle Djinni and then start on the other two WMD File books. They will all three knock your socks off and keep you up through the night as you fly through the book waiting to see what happens next. I love this series and this is a great addition to it.

If I had not already read the two WMD stories that follow the story of the Battle Djinni, I would be racing to get them. Great story, great background for reading the WMD series. I liked Reza Sanjabi before, now I really like him.
An excellent lead into the WMD series.
I have followed Bruns' writing from his first sci-fi novel. He has gone from talented to incredible. Modern/recent history subterfuge and war stories do not normally interest me but this short story kept me turning the pages. The writing was crisp, the characters well-defined, and the action suspenseful. I highly recommend reading.
